GreenJackets and Giants Release 2017 Roster

AUGUSTA, GA -The Augusta GreenJackets, in conjunction with their MLB-affiliate San Francisco Giants, have released their Opening Day roster for the 2017 season. The GreenJackets will be bringing back twelve players who saw some action in Augusta in 2016.

The GreenJackets have also announced the Buzztastic Batting Practice at the Lake, an open-to-the-public practice, for Wednesday, April 5th at Lake Olmstead Stadium from 5pm to 8pm. This free admission event features the GreenJackets practicing at Lake Olmstead Stadium for the first time in 2017. Special Wash It Down Wednesday drink specials include $2 12oz and $4 32oz draft beers, Coca-Cola fountain sodas and a limited concessions menu.

"As the anticipation builds for our last season at Lake Olmstead Stadium we are excited to welcome a talented crew of future San Francisco Giants to Augusta," said GreenJackets General Manager Tom Denlinger. "We invite the CSRA to come out and enjoy the first practice under the lights with us on Wednesday and kick off the exciting 2017 season!"

Outfielder Sandro Fabian, the Giants #6 overall prospect, will be starting his first season of full-season professional baseball in Augusta. Last season with the AZL Giants, Fabian hit .340 with five triples, 13 doubles, and 54 total base hits in 42 games.
