RiverDogs and Pelicans Washed Out in Exhibition Opener
Charleston to Open Season Tomorrow Night at The Joe, 7:05

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – A two-hour trip north turned out just to be a change of scenery for batting practice. The Second Annual “Battle of the Beaches” exhibition opener between the RiverDogs and the Pelicans was rained out on Wednesday night at TicketReturn.com Field. The RiverDogs will begin the regular season on Thursday night at The Joe starting at 7:05pm to open up a seven-game homestand.
With the rain out, the RiverDogs will adjust their rotation slightly. Righty Nick Green will still be on the bump on Opening Night and Wednesday’s scheduled starter, Freicer Perez, will now start on Friday followed by Jio Orozco, Brian Keller, and Nick Nelson.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the pregame festivities with Mayor Tecklenburg tickling the ivories on a piano provided by Fox Music as the RiverDogs celebrate The Joe’s 21st birthday. It’s also a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday presented by 95SX featuring dollar beers and the scintillating tunes of DJ Natty Heavy in the remodeled and expanded Budweiser Ashley View Pub. Fans that turn 21 each Thirsty Thursday will receive free admission with proof of an ID and college students can secure tickets at the gate for just $5. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will also receive a RiverDogs magnet schedule.
RiverDogs season tickets, half-season ticket packages, mini plans, and group tickets are now available for the 2017 campaign, including options for the all-new Riley Park Club.
Single-game tickets are now available and can be secured by contacting the box office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com. Those that can’t make it to the park can follow every pitch of the RiverDogs season on WTMA 1250 AM in the tri-county area or by streaming online at riverdogs.com and the TuneIn Radio App by searching “RiverDogs.”
